The Howard County Zoning Board voted 4-1 on Wednesday night, November 10th, shortly after 10:00 pm in favor of Erickson Senior Living’s proposed community in Clarksville. While the journey has been long–our first supporters joined us more than four years ago–we could not be more proud of what we have accomplished together. With last night’s vote, Erickson Senior Living’s commitment to Howard County and its residents can continue for generations. Most importantly, we are excited about the thousands of seniors and families that this project will serve for years to come.
Our team at Erickson Senior Living would like to thank the members of the Howard County Zoning Board, the Howard County Planning Board, the Howard County Executive, the heads of the various departments involved, the dozens of county staff members, and the countless residents who worked many, many months with us to review and strengthen the project. In the end, the process has produced an inclusive, thoughtful plan that increases access to much-needed housing and healthcare options for county seniors, and provides great value to Howard County.
Your support and dedication to this project, even with the challenges that we have all experienced over the past two years, has meant so much to our team and our company. We are very excited about our future in Howard County, and we very much look forward to being your neighbor.
The current portion of the zoning process may be complete, but we hope that our friendship and partnership will continue. Our team will keep you informed as we begin the next phase of this project, so that one day soon we can welcome the first residents to our Clarksville community.
